Rebekah A. Bardwell, M.Ed., LMHC brings expertise in the fields of Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Abuse and Trauma, and associated disorders. Rebekah was employed by The Renfrew Center of Florida, the leading treatment center for Eating Disorders, from 1999-2009. She completed her Bachelors degree in Psychology in 1999, and her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2002, at Florida Atlantic University; and immediately began to work in the field of Substance Abuse. Rebekah has developed several groups at The Renfrew Center including “Real Life Excursions”, which affords women the opportunity to make a smooth transition from inpatient treatment back into the challenges of daily life. She also designed and implemented a new Meal Support Therapy Program, and was frequently involved in the training of new staff members, practicum students, and Post-Doctoral residents. In addition, Rebekah appeared in the HBO documentary “THIN”, which was nominated for Best Documentary at Sundance Film Festival, and was also nominated for an Emmy. She was also selected to appear on the nationally syndicated show “Ask the Specialist” to discuss the complications of Eating Disorders in Bariatric Surgery. Rebekah is currently the Director of the IOP Intuitive Eating program at Hollywood Pavilion in Hollywood, FL now offering IOP services to men suffering from Eating Disorders as well as those who are pre/post Bariatric Surgery. Rebekah employs an eclectic and individualized approach to therapy in order to empower individuals, couples, and families to change their lives. For those motivated to so do, Rebekah will also incorporate MST and other applicable excursions into sessions. |
